Its Oscar Day!
Its OSCAR day!
About this time, many well respected and talented artist are beginning to get ready for the biggest day of the year... well..(in the film world). The hair and makeup artist, wardrobe stylist, nail goddesses, assistants and personal chefs.. are all gathering at the houses of the rich and famous.. I would assume this is when the nerves start to kick in..if they haven't already. Like most of you, I wasn't invited to the Oscars this year... (I know.. how rude right?!) SO.. I will be enjoying the show in the comfort of my bed and pajamas with some sort of chocolate dessert..(naturally). Its come to my attention that a lot of people could care less about the actual awards, they’re more interested in what color dress Jennifer Lawrence is wearing or who Leo DiCaprio brought as a date.. I’m right there with ya! trust me. BUT, the awards for me are inspiring and motivating. Its a dream of mine to be sitting in those very seats, waiting for my split screen shot, just before they announce the best actress in a lead role. I cant help but feel nervous and excited for the nominees. Watching as they announce the winners name, knowing I got to witness someones dream come true… thats amazing.
A lot of people were told as young kids not to dream so big.. and maybe those exact words weren't used.. but we are told to be realistic and get a good paying job. I get it, I do.. but what would happen if people believed in themselves enough to pursue a dream or passion. I was fortunate enough to have artistic parents who encouraged me to reach for the stars and do what makes me happy. I didn't always appreciate this about them, I wished at times that they made me finish college and pushed me in a direction with more stability.
I’m 27, I don't have a degree, I don’t have a corporate or “stable” job, I don’t have any kids and I don't have an Oscar.. but enough about what I don't have..
I do have an AMAZING family and husband, adorable aussie pup, a beautiful home, good health and everyday I wake up more excited than the last to pursue what I'm passionate about......oh and..... I’m HAPPY. I spent years trying to find happiness in so many other things. How many of you can say, that at the end of the day, you’re doing something you love and you're genuinely happy? If your answer is no.. then all I ask is, whats holding you back? More on that later...
Now its coffee and anticipation time! Happy Oscar Day! #goodluckLeo!
