Easter Brunch and Pastels..it must be Spring
One of my favorite times of year is HERE!! Spring!! To be quite honest.. when you live in California there really isn't a time of year you dislike. BUT for a few reasons in particular, I love spring. Besides the beautiful flowers blooming and the gorgeous weather, I LOVE the fashion and the makeup colors. Once Easter Sunday hits I bust out the pastels..everything from nail polish, to light sweaters, dresses, wedge heels and even pastel lip colors.
This year I went for a simple look: pink lip (Snob- MAC), Gold eye shadow (loose powder- MAC), BB tinted face primer (Tarte-medium),
Pro-finish powder (Makeup Forever), Translucent highlighter(Candlelight) and Roller lash mascara (Benefit)
Easter Sunday means something different to everyone. I guarantee you have a memory or two from childhood that makes you smile. When I was young, my mother would dress me in a colorful dress (that most likely had a horrible matching hat) and we would go down to the EHR (East Highlands Ranch) clubhouse for an Easter egg hunt and pictures with the Easter bunny... Lets be real though.. I was just there for the chocolate candy in the plastic egg.
The past 5 years I've spent my Easter Sundays in St. Helena, CA with my husbands family. This year I got to spend it with my family at La Grande Orange Cafe in Pasadena. Like usual, when my crazy family gets together its both hilarious and always an affair to remember.
The food at Le Grande Orange was great. I had an egg white and bacon omelet with fruit.. and the famous homemade english muffin. The bloody mary was a must have, although I probably should of ordered a double.... ;)
Did I mention Im 27 and I still get an Easter basket. These days they are filled with jewelry and skin care products and of course the dove chocolates inside the plastic eggs. This year I requested my mother make her famous cookies so I could share them with my new LA friends...She truly outdid herself. She made dozens! Both GF/ vegan and of course her original.
Another lovely holiday celebrated with great company and great food. HAPPY EASTER!!!
