Creating a Space to Create
Its FRIDAY!... and its finally starting to feel like a different season is approaching! Im a California girl (born and raised) so naturally I love the heat, the sun, the beach and our mild winters. This is normally the time of year I get super excited for warm clothes, crock pot recipes and the fast approaching holiday season...and I know I'm not alone in this. In preparation of the cold weather I've spent the past few months giving my home some much needed TLC. I figured this Fall and Winter would be the perfect time to stay in doors and work on those scripts I mentioned before. We've lived in our home for just over three years and its been a very slow work in progress. Don't get me wrong, it was cute when we moved in but it definitely needed a little sprucing up. With me being the most indecisive person, especially when it comes to decor or design and my husband being his simple and minimalist self, its just taking us a while to figure out what we want to do with our space. I've started by giving the interior a face lift, aka repainting every wall white! Theres something about a fresh coat of white paint that just makes everything feel clean and new.
One room in particular that needed some love was my den/office area. I wanted to create a space that I could create in! I felt it was super important to have a personal area that I could work, read, write or even just relax in. I recruited my sister to help me feng shuey the area and the husband to hang things and voila! a beautiful den was born. Like I said, I'm indecisive so I continue to adjust things and try new arrangements BUT the important thing is I have a space! Now all I need is a really cozy chair and a good book for rainy days.... (if they ever come!)
With that said, the house is still a work in progress but we are tackling one room at a time and its starting to really come together!
Until next time,
~Jules~
Even my boys like to hang out in my den :) Lucky lady...
